The Surreal Assemblages

Everything in the world has a nonlinear influence on everything else, culminating in the building of layers of an unsolvable complicated system. Every material has the ability to tell a tale, and when they join together, a different story is told just because of their proximity. The world is made of surreal assemblages that result as a result of interactions and intractions of human and innate materials. Humans frequently overlook the ability of materials to cause events to occur in certain ways. Whatever exists in the world is the result of interactions between human and nonhuman things, the power of which is frequently overlooked.

Materials are involved and have a role in shaping us and the planet. The material environment can elicit new possibilities, and if we wish to investigate material capability, we must accept the object's existence without imposing the subjectivity of human experience. To effect significant change in the global working style, we must look beyond the rational way of thinking. Art and various ways of thinking may be tremendous forces for the change we wish to see in the world. We must acknowledge that we are not in complete control of everything that occurs in our minds and surroundings; there are underlying disordered patterns that do not make sense. We must rely on instincts and immediate events.

Surreal assemblage artwork is the juxtaposition of opposing components sometimes common materials scavenged by the artist or purchased deliberately to create a visual contrast. The abstract art I created is an assemblage of two materials with diametrically opposed properties: one that is strong, stiff, and requires strength to change shapes, and the other that is soft and easily convertible into any form. It is a sort of mixed media art known as assemblage. This assemblage tells the narrative of an art form hovering between two entirely different materials that come together to form a unique artwork. It has its own expression, which is seen differently by different individuals. It is fascinating to see how seemingly insignificant items might be transformed into exquisite art forms. It made me understand that artistic possibilities may be discovered in common items around us, even those we deem rubbish.

Panpsychism :

To quote author Jane Bennet "Stuff commands attention on its own and has effects on us." We often don’t understand the active engagement of non-living elements in the events we are part of. Non-living objects, which we frequently deem inert, have the power to have an influence on us, and everything around us is profoundly interwoven. Panpsychism is the notion that all objects have a mind or a mind-like characteristic. If the brain is a material object consisting of particles, then particles of matter, pebbles, stones, and strings may likewise have some type of consciousness.
Panpsychist theories often seek to incorporate both the material domain and the mental realm in a single complete framework, in a way that fundamentally links the two. These realms are important in many ways, but panpsychism is a unique intersection of the two, in which mind is seen as fundamental to the nature of existence and being. It is at once an ontology and a theory of mind.
Material environment can bring out fresh possibilities for the operating style of planet. To investigate material capacities and broaden the set of new possibilities, it is necessary to comprehend the human-nonhuman interaction and reconsider the role of materials in shaping us and the world. Reaching one's unconscious mind reveals one's true desires, thoughts, and fears.

The Surrealism :

Surrealism was a movement that advocated for the unconscious and illogical notions of the mind. Surreal art does not adhere to a specific style or look, but the unique thinking behind it lends to its certainty. The surrealist art forms were developed by focusing on the realm of dream in order to create a new reality which was beyond real or surreal.
Surrealist artists seek magic and strange beauty in the unexpected and uncanny, the overlooked and the unconventional. At the core of their work is the willingness to challenge imposed values and norms, and a search for freedom. These artists have also drawn influence from mysticism, ancient cultures, and Indigenous art and knowledge to create other realms. Surrealism relies heavily on juxtaposition, dislocation, and transformation. We've been talking about change and transition for decades, and relying on instincts and instantaneous occurring will undoubtedly aid in the exploration of new ways of making art and other aspects of the world.
Material commands our attention and affects us in an unconscious portion of the brain that we frequently ignore, as was discussed in Vibrant matter by Jane Bennet . The universe outside of rational boundaries or conceptions is the focus of panpsychism and surrealist theories. Both ideas emphasize how the world may change for the better if we allow unconscious thoughts to take charge and think beyond the box, which will in fact open up fantastical possibilities for positively influencing the world. We must look beyond common perceptions and broaden the range of new alternatives since materials and surroundings may open up new possibilities.

The Repair Café :

Repair cafés help items survive longer and complement the Library of Things, which reduces consumption. People gather at repair cafés for free to mend items together. In a repair café, you can usually find the tools and supplies you need to fix things like electronics, clothes, motorcycles, and furniture. You may also obtain help from skilled volunteers who have repair experience in a variety of professions. Such a one-of-a-kind room should undoubtedly have a design that makes a statement while remaining cost-effective and easily moveable. The design, which is interwoven by analysing human-non-living interaction and attraction with surreal assemblage artforms and Panpsychism concepts, will not only be unique, but will also be able to draw the crowd and engage them in activities.

Feedback :
  • While the conceptual theory focuses on the materials, the exploration of the various types of materials and their distinctive combinations should take precedence because these will be useful in creating the designs. Focus on contrasting properties of material .
  • The design of the installation designed for the café should be portable and simple to adapt to any location since it may be moved.
  • The employed materials must to be economical, recyclable, and reusable.
  • to assess the location and the kind of population that needs to be catered to.
