A WALK TO REMEMBER

How often does it happen that a place has an impact on our mood or emotions? This question had been bugging me ever since I came across the term “Emotional Climate” in one of the lectures at the university. Emotional climate  is a concept that quantifies the  “climate”  of a space ,  being a small group,  an organization or a geographical region. Emotional climates indicate the emotional relationships interwoven among members of a community and describe the quality of the environment within a particular context. Emotional climates reflect the way most members of a community feel in a given situation.  People talk to each other about their feelings and   influence one another, and thus construct shared emotional patterns.  I decided to take a walk around the city     and try to observe the emotional response of people in different places.                    Canoe Lake is one of my fav...

Everything is interconnected."-   Marcus Tullius cicero Everything that exists in the world has non linear impact on one another resulting in the formation of the layers of intractable complex system. The activity conducted in the studio based on the interpretation of small paragraph from Jane Bennett's “ Vibrant Matter- A Political Ecology Of Things ” has definitely had a great impact on my perception and has pushed me to analyze the situations from different perspectives. (Sketches made in the studio by different students) A paragraph from the book was read and we had to make a sketch of the image formed in our mind after listening to the author’s perspective. I tried to remember the paragraph in form of a story which revolved around author’s thought process and the feelings that were evoked by the objects which were in front of her.
